Beer #134 - Whitstable Cockle Warmer

Another one from the Whitstable Brewery in Kent and the last beer I drank before catching the train back to London. What with it being a chilly November day the name Cockle Warmer elicited the thought of a dark, warming winter ale. It is in fact, a light golden ale which, whilst unexpected, was actually really tasty. It poured a hazy gold and a robust citrus flavour yet a lovely smooth finish. It’s probably one of the best citrus-y beers I’ve ever had, no claggy bitterness that left me feeling like I’d been chewing on hops, just light easy drinking beer. Well done, Whitstable.
