One of my favourite local pubs is the
Prince of Wales in Cleaver Square in Kennington. It's a lovely little pub in a beautiful residential square, the unfortunate downside is that it's a Shepheard Neame pub, but you can't have it all. I'd absolutely love to take this place over and turn it into a beer lovers dream, it's hard to imagine a better setting for a pub in London. Anyway I went for a Whitstable Bay Pale Ale brewed under the Faverdale Steam Brewery tag,
a brand that was recently revived by Shepherd Neame. This pale ale was a nice beer, both aroma and flavour are dominated by the malt which lends the beer an almost overwhelming taste of caramel. This isn't one for the hop-heads but I found it perfectly pleasant and certainly preferable to the other cask ales on offer.
Brewery: Shepherd Neame Brewery
Country: United Kingdom
ABV: 3.9%
