Many countries the world over have a staple macro-lager - one that is ubiquitous from bar to bar, one that is seemingly inescapable. In Lithuania, where I recently spent a few days, it is Švyturys. The country has a rich brewing history which I didn't get a chance to explore at all thoroughly, but Švyturys traces its history back to 1794 which is something in itself. For a lager I actually thoroughly enjoyed this one. Far from being the generic, watery, unpleasant stuff I was expecting it actually had a bit of character - most notably a pretty robust biscuity malt backbone that ran throughout the beer. As Carlsberg lagers go it has to be considered one of the best.
