Beer #419 - Khevsuruli

This bottle had been knocking around in my beer wardrobe since my holiday in Georgia last year and I thought it was high time I drank it. I figured it was going to be a generic, disappointing lager but it is in fact an amber lager (brewed to a ‘traditional recipe’ no less). Khevsuruli is brewed by Zedazeni in Saguramo, which lies 20km or so to the north of Tbilisi. Despite being slightly different from the norm it wasn’t really any better. It was quite highly carbonated with a fairly disappointing weak caramel malt flavour – but very weak indeed. Not particularly well-executed, but quite a cool bottle label which is what attracted me in the first place!

Brewery: Zedazeni
Country: Georgia
ABV: 4.9%
