Beer #128 - Samuel Smith's Nut Brown Ale

Last weekend I went to The Windsor Castle, a Sam Smiths pub hidden away behind Westminster Cathedral in Victoria. The pub itself is absolutely beautiful inside and I would urge you to have a look in if you’re nearby. My favourite thing about it was that there was hardly anyone there – an empty pub in central London on a Saturday night? Dream. My first choice at the bar was a bottle of Nut Brown Ale. Whilst Sam Smiths are known for their cheap beer it appears this does not apply to bottles and this worked out at quite a pricey pint. It was well worth it though. The beer pours dark with a dark-ish head. It’s a lovely rich beer with a beautiful nutty, malty flavour as you might expect. Very good indeed.
