Beer #16 – Young’s Bitter

On Tuesday evening I met up with my mum and sister in Barnes and we went to the White Hart, near Barnes Bridge, for a drink. The pub gets a bit of a raw deal on some internet review websites however it’s well worth a visit for the location alone, sited as it is overlooking the River Thames. Although it’s a Young’s pub they do have some other beers on offer too. My first choice however was off so I went for a pint of Young’s Bitter. At just 3.7% it’s a good low-ish alcohol option but it is also absolutely delicious. It might not set the world on fire but it’s a really, really good English ale and anybody that enjoys proper English beer will enjoy this. Whilst it was formerly brewed by Young’s in Wandsworth in London, a recent merger saw the operation moved to Bedford.

Brewery: Wells & Young’s
Country: United Kingdom
ABV: 3.7%
