Beer #19 - Cobra

Cobra and Indian curries go, quite nicely, arm in arm in the UK. And so it was that I found myself drinking another bigger-than-pint-size bottle in an Islington curry house last week. It’s hard to imagine going out for Indian food and drinking anything else, Cobra is so often the best beer available (unless of course you visit Brick Lane, where on more than one occasion and in more than one restaurant I’ve been offered ‘Cobra’ only to notice a waiter slyly pouring a can of Carlsberg into a pint glass). Originally brewed in Bangalore, southern India, it is now produced in Burton upon Trent, which sounds far less exotic, by Coors UK.
