Beer #22 - Brooklyn Summer Ale

On Friday I went to check out the Utobeer beer stall at Borough Market, as it’s the closest specialist beer shop to my house (as far as I can tell) and I wanted to pick up something to drink that evening. I’d previously visited The Rake, a pub owned by the same people and also located in Borough market. The stall stocks a pretty good range of beers from all over the world and I was impressed with the selection. They don’t seem overly keen on tourists though or even people simply browsing, which given the stalls location, is somewhat surprising. Anyway as the blog currently lacks any American beers I decided to pick up a few. The first was Brooklyn Brewery’s Summer Ale. Brooklyn’s Lager is now very widely available in London pubs (even in places that don’t seem to focus on beer), but I’ve never seen any other variety for sale. The Summer Ale was, as expected, pretty light but I didn’t find it overly refreshing or massively enjoyable, unfortunately.

Brewery: Brooklyn Brewery
