Beer #291 - Brains The Rev. James

This is another beer from Brains of Cardiff as provided to me by my wonderful parents following their recent trip to Wales. The beer was acquired after Brains bought out the Crown Buckley brewery and is named after one of the original owners of Buckley Brewery, the Rev. James Buckley, which is rather nice. Now this one genuinely is a cut above most bottled beers produced by the big regional breweries. It pours a light beige/brown colour and the malt-forward nature of the beer is clear from the aroma of malt and barley. The flavour is well-balanced with some lovely dark fruit, and biscuit notes and a hint of bitterness. Really drinkable and very enjoyable.

Brewery: Brains
Country: United Kingdom (Wales)
ABV: 4.5%
