Beer #320 - Leon (Cyprus)

My girlfriend recently visited Cyprus with work and I was treated to a few beers on her return. Having had Keo many times whilst living in Harringay, north London, she found it something of a challenge to track down a bottled alternative. Enter Leon. Leon was actually the first beer to be brewed on the island however when the brewery obtained the rights to produce Carlsberg in the 1960s, it shelved the brand. It was re-launched as recently as 2003, based on the original recipe. It's a fairly standard macro lager with little to distinguish it, although the label is pretty cool.

Brewery: Photos Photiades Breweries
