Following on from yesterday’s Old Speckled Hen post, whilst
in Loughborough my team-mate was charged with picking up some ale on a beer run.
He came back with a Greene King selection box which was pretty uninspiring but
better than drinking Fosters or Carling cider, which were the other options (I
know). Old Golden Hen is another former Morlands brew. This is decent golden
ale, much lighter in colour and taste than Old Speckled Hen. It’s reasonably
hoppy for Greene King ale and probably the best of their bog standard beers.
Brewery: Greene King
Country: United Kingdom
ABV: 4.1%
