Beer #89 - Lindemans Kriek

This was a gift to my girlfriend that she kindly shared with me. Kriek is a Belgian tipple made by adding sour cherries to lambic beer. It’s been a fair while since I last had a kriek; I went to a couple of music festivals in Belgium a few years ago and the bars served a choice of Belle Vue Kriek or Stella Artois, and the kriek won out. Lindemans kriek is really nice, there is a slight tartness that comes from the sour cherries but it’s also very sweet and very thick with an almost syrup like consistency. It’s certainly not something I’d drink every day and owing to the sweetness one bottle is enough, but it’s really quite delicious.
