On Friday I had a look into
Harrild & Sons, a recently opened bar on Farringdon Road that opened for business in mid-February. It's a beautiful space that has been renovated really well and it was packed to the rafters with booze-hungry Londoners. They have a superb bottle list as well as perhaps six or seven keg offerings (as far as I could see, it was busy!) and four cask lines. They also have a decent-looking wine menu and offer food that sounds pretty tasty as well. I was only after a single pint so I went for a pint of
Magic Rock Dark Arts. The Huddersfield brewery has built a really great reputation since they began brewing in 2011. This was only the second beer I've had (the other being Craft Magic a couple of months ago) and it was really very good. It poured pitch black with a thick tan head.
Strong coffee malt
taste with a bit of smokiness and sweetness on the finish. It was absolutely lovely.
Brewery: Magic Rock Brewing
