Beer #75 - Golden Sheep

Golden Sheep is a Golden Ale produced in Yorkshire by the Black Sheep Brewery. The brewery was set up by Paul Theakston, a former managing director of Theakstons Brewery in 1991. They’re quite a successful brewery with Black Sheep Ale very widely available in UK supermarkets. Golden Sheep is a fairly solid ale, nothing too exciting in the taste but nicely balanced, bitter and fairly refreshing. I had this one at the Compton Arms and was pretty annoyed that pretty much as soon as I’d taken my first sip they put on Dark Star’s American Pale Ale and I couldn’t stop for a second pint. Ah well.
